Majority, the Webb, deciding the truth by majority vote
Some people are convinced that when many persons believe something, it is right. They think that when many persons affirm a thing on Internet, it must be true. They think that when many websites are occupied with a subject, it must be important and interesting. IT IS NOT SO. They probably never heard of what Doktor Stockmann said in Norwegian dramatist Henrik Ibsen's play An Enemy of the People: "The majority is never right" ("Flertallet har aldrig retten på sin side.", orig. title En folkefiende, 1882).
People are very often reasonable, when you talk to them one by one, but when they are gathered in a group, they can be terrible, they can find death penalty right, they can hate the Jews - or the Christians - or the Socialists, etc, etc.
A more complete citation from Ibsen's play: "The majority is never right. Never, I tell you! That's one of these lies in society that no free and intelligent man can help rebelling against. Who are the people that make up the biggest proportion of the population the intelligent ones or the fools?"
